Building confidence, wellbeing, and teamwork — The TRUST Method at the heart of every New Leaf course
TRUST for children
Each New Leaf Learning course for children runs 1 day a week, over 5 weeks, allowing time for meaningful reflection, growth, and skill development. Sessions are delivered in small, supportive groups of up to 6 children, ensuring every participant receives individual attention and the chance to build strong, trusting relationships with both peers and facilitators.
This small-group approach creates a safe and nurturing space where children can share experiences, practise new strategies, and make genuine progress in confidence, resilience, and readiness to learn.
There is no cost to parents and families. There is a subsidised cost of £995 per school per course of 6 children to schools and referrers. Places are booked by the school or referrer. To apply, please complete the following form.
Children can visit our children’s zone here to orientate themselves before the course.
TRUST for families and carers
Building Trust Together
During your child’s course, each parent/ carer will take part in a two-hour session at the start and a one-hour session in the final week of the programme.
These sessions introduce practical strategies to support your child’s confidence, wellbeing, and emotional growth at home. You’ll explore ways to help your child manage big feelings, step beyond their comfort zone, and build resilience — all through the TRUST approach. We also share simple techniques for calm routines, positive praise, and family connection, helping you strengthen relationships and bring the same sense of trust and care from New Leaf into everyday life.
There is no cost to families.
TRUST for teachers
Supporting Staff to Create Calm, Connected Classrooms
New Leaf Learning offers a five-day CPD course for teachers and teaching assistants, designed to strengthen emotional wellbeing, confidence, and engagement in learning, included within the TRUST for children course.
Delivered from our beautiful base at Courteenhall Estate in Northamptonshire, the course blends theory, reflection, and hands-on experiences in nature. Staff attend one day a week across five weeks, learning alongside the children as they explore The TRUST Method — Trying, Resilience, Understanding, Self-regulation, and Teamwork.
Participants learn how anxiety affects the brain and body, exploring key principles from Polyvagal Theory (Stephen Porges) and current research on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). The course provides practical strategies for creating connected, trauma-informed learning spaces both inside and outside the classroom. These approaches support all learners — including those who find it hard to focus or who may have additional needs such as ASD or ADHD.
At least one staff member (teacher or TA) attends the full five-day course with their pupils and joins the two parent sessions at the beginning and end. They are mentored by the programme lead and guided towards meeting the criteria for TRUST Certification.
